The Names Of A Mother And Her 11-year-old Daughter, Who Were On A Medical Jet That Crashed, Have Been Released

A mother and her daughter were on a medical jet that crashed last week, and their identities have been made public.

Shortly after taking off from Northeast Philadelphia Airport on Friday, January 31, a medical plane carrying a minor patient, her mother, and four other people crashed.

The plane reached around 1,500 feet in the air before crashing into a neighborhood.

Officials verified there were no survivors the day following the horrific incident.

Philadelphia Mayor, Cherelle Parker, said in a statement, as per BBC News“A devastating plane crash occurred in Northeast Philadelphia near Roosevelt Mall at Cottman and Bustleton Avenues on Friday evening, January 31, 2025, at approximately 6:10 pm.”

“A private Learjet 55 – a medical transportation jet – departing from Northeast Philadelphia Airport with two passengers, a mother and daughter, and four crew members were killed in the tragic crash.”

It has now been determined that the mother and daughter are Valentina Guzman Murillo, age 11, and her mother, Lizeth Murillo Ozuna, age 31.

According to Mail Online, Jet Rescue Air Ambulance spokesperson Shai Gold commented about their tragic death, saying of Valentina: “She did her course of care.” She was returning home.

“She fought quite a lot to survive, and unfortunately, this tragedy on the way home.”

In another statement on the day of the crash, Mel Bower, a spokesman for the hospital where Valentina was receiving treatment, said: “It’s extremely hard and extremely difficult, those that were involved directly in her care were very aware that she was going to be traveling home and there had actually been a sendoff for her today.”

Dr. Raul Meza Arredondo, paramedic Rodrigo Lopez Padilla, copilot Josue de Jesus Juarez Juarez, and captain Alan Alejandro Montoya Perales also perished in the incident.

Everybody who died was from Mexico.

The crash claimed the lives of six passengers on board the aircraft as well as another person.

Parker claims that the person, who has not yet been named, was operating a vehicle when the medical jet crashed.

Additionally, Parker acknowledged that 22 people were hurt, according to yesterday’s (February 2) CBS news report.

Three of the wounded are critically ill.

According to the news agency, eleven residential buildings have sustained “significant damage.”

“It is conceivable that there are still individuals who were impacted by this incident,” stated Adam Thiel, managing director of the City of Philadelphia.

“If there is somebody who you think might have been in this area and they’re missing and they haven’t checked in and you can’t reach them or they live there – call 911,” he instructed.
